VOICU POPESCU

Voicu Popescu is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. He has a Ph.D. In Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests lie in the areas of virtual, mixed, and augmented reality, collectively known as extended reality (XR), with applications in education and healthcare. He has been serving the research community for 30 years, most recently as Program Chair of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces, the flagship technical conference in XR.
